Feedback of final piece

As a class we watched all the videos within the group which was great as we got view all the other videos and see the range of ideas that people had. However ost importantly we got feedback about our piece which reflected peoples thoughts on our music video.

The feedback we got was that
genre -alternative music that was happy and fast paced

target audience- our video is targeted at teenagers from 13-18 due to the fun of the music and the video

Editing - range of shots, good variety of locations, and the traffic likes worked really well

Mise en scene - the location worked well due to the busy streets

Editing

We have spent the last few lessons editing our footage. Are main problem has been trying to make the green screening work. We have sped up footage of been walking down Oxford street as well as tower bridge opening. Both these have worked really well and work well with the fast paced music. Our opening shot is of traffic lights and is really cartoony which is like the rest of The Go! Teams videos. other effects we have added;

- We had a shot of a bin with a smiling face and now we have changed it to a sad face then it goes from sad to happy
-We have big numbers for when the song goes 1234
- Behind the numbers we have used London landmarks

There is also plenty of other stuff going on =]

London

We spent an afternoon in London filming all different shots to put into our music video We got some really great shots for example we found a pavement with lights and we used this as a kind of cat walk and our group walked down in. We also have shots of the tower of London and Tower bridged. We have shots on the train, and of London streets. Over all the day was a success =]

Blog Feedback And Targets

overall as a group we are happy with the feedback we received from the class. Most of the comments were positive, however there was some constructive criticism towards our piece which allowed us to create targets in order to improve our blog. Here are some of our targets and comments;

-Ideas shown clearly
-Good band research with written information and videos
-Location shots included
-Animation and test shots gives a general idea of what we want to achieve
-Special effects in our test shots are good
-The pitch for our music video could have been more detailed
-The Kooks video is no longer available so needs to be replaced
-No song lyrics
-No analysis on the test footage

"Are our ideas clear for our final piece from the information in our blog?"

-Yes, ideas are shown clearly due to the detail in the shot list.
-Good but a bit more analysis needed.
-More information needed about what's going to happen
-Paragraph needed to explain how the test footage will relate to the final piece.

Targets;

-Show more detail and express our ideas more clearly on our pitch
-Relate our test footage to our shot list
-Replace the Kooks video with another one, so we still have sufficient 'real' music videos

student work

We really like this student video as it has features a picture turning into an action shot. We think this works really well as an interesting transition from shot to shot. We would like to use this idea in our own music video by encorporating it into our comic book idea to move from scene to scene.
